Drowning Prevention

Pool/Water Safety

A drowned child is one of the worst situations any emergency worker can encounter. It is because of the enormity of this kind of tragedy that we will continue to remind our citizens of the importance of water safety.

-Children should learn to swim as soon as possible, and safety barriers should ALWAYS be utilized at residential pools for both children who reside at the home, AND any other children who may use the pool.

-Adults should learn CPR when possible. Classes are affordable and available locally. For more information contact any of our fire stations.

-Our department does not currently provide formal training to the public on water safety for kids, but we will continue to enforce the importance of this topic through website and social media platforms.
